Rehabilitative Pilates
Pilates rehabilitation works for many reasons. The high level of attention to detail and form helps in concentrating on gaining strength in weaker or injured muscles and joints. Pilates is safe and gentle on the joints and works on the smaller muscle groups that support joints and bony structures. Students become more aware of their bodies. The aim is to become physically more balanced and threngthened.
Rehabilitative Pilates can be used preventatively. Keep yourself strong today and avoid injuries tomorrow. This is a useful for people with conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis and fibromyalgia.
Rehab Pilates not only develops strength, but it increases flexibility in muscles and joints. Keeping a full or near full range of motion in the joints is immensely important for most people, but arthritis sufferers have a particular need for that.
Whether you are suffering from a more chronic condition or recovering from an injury or operation, please speak to Luisa D'Ambrosio to discuss wheter Rehabilitative Pilates is suitable for you.
Pilates instructors, where possible, work in conjunction with physical therapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, and doctors. Pilates in itself is rehabilitative and therapeutic and does not aim to make a diagnosis.
Classes consist of no more than 6 people, ensuring a high level of supervision. All classes will run with a minimum of 2 - 3 people booked.
