Conscious Pregnancy Yoga focuses on specific Kriyas, meditations and breathing techniques to help you prepare for labour, birth and motherhood, whilst increasing your health, self-confidence and sense of well-being in pregnancy. Right from conception through to birth, it increases your vitality and reduces stress levels, as well as making you feel close to your growing baby long before he or she is born.
The process of pregnancy is one of transition and total change, a time for great awakening and major shifts; Pregnancy Kundalini Yoga totally supports you through that and prepares you on a physical, mental and emotional level.
The teachings of Kundalini Yoga for pregnancy offer knowledge about birthing and babycare, which are not mainstream in today’s Western culture. But with knowledge comes true choice, so that you can choose consciously what will best suit your physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
Pregnancy yoga classes give you the chance to spend time with other pregnant women, and it is always nice to be around others who are going through the same changes and feelings as you.
The amazing teachings of Kundalini yoga give you the faith and trust that women’s bodies contain the knowledge and fortitude to bring children into the world. The exercises and meditations help you develop confidence in yourself as a woman and in your body’s natural ability to deal with natural childbirth. You can then plan on the birth you want, opening you up to more options besides the conventional childbirth experience of going to hospital, signing up for an epidural and relying on medical staff to give birth to your child.
After all, it is your birth. So, do your own research, investigate various options and discuss it in class and with your midwife. Bearing in mind that birthing is related to one’s ability to relax and surrender to the process and the biggest block to successful labour is fear.
