What Verona says about her Midwifery Service
It is universally felt that pregnancy is one of the special times in life. As an Independent Midwife I aim to make that special time even better. I provide a supportive, nurturing and informative service offering freedom of choice by involving my clients in all parts of the decision-making process during the progression towards parenthood.
When you book me I will be available by phone 24 hours a day throughout your pregnancy. All your consultations will take place in your home or at the Dulwich Therapy Rooms.
There will be at least 9 one-hour-long consultations leading up to the birth of your baby. These consultations enable me to assess and monitor the progress of your pregnancy and give you the opportunity to ask anything you like about your progress. The consultations are monthly until 32 weeks, fortnightly until 38 weeks, then weekly until the birth of your baby.
As your pregnancy progresses you will want to look forward to having a wonderful birthing experience, having the full support of a midwife who you know will help achieve this.
Following the birth, I shall provide help and support with feeding and caring for your baby. I will be available for guidance on parenting skills, baby massage, bathing and general health and care of you and your baby.
If you opt for my service you can rest assured; I will be there to care for you throughout your pregnancy and labour and to support you as a family for the first six beautiful weeks of your baby’s life.
Breastfeeding Support
As an accredited Lactation Consultant Verona can provide long-term assistance throughout your period of breastfeeding - from pre-natal care through to weaning. By providing effective theoretical and practical breastfeeding education and trouble shooting advice, Verona can help prevent and solve breastfeeding problems and offer advice about attaining the correct position, preventing mastitis, the duration of feeds and expressing.
This service is available on a one-to-one basis, either in your home, or at the Dulwich Therapy Rooms. For Verona's Independent Midwifery clients it is included in the price.
