Chinese Herbalist
Speciality: Fertility
Claire Battersby completed a 5-year course in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in 1998, since when she has run a busy private practice in London. She has experience in treating a wide range of conditions, including gynaecological, digestive and respiratory disorders.
Claire’s initial training was in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the style of medicine practised in China since the Cultural Revolution. In recent years, her interest has led her to undertake extensive post-graduate studies in Classical Chinese Medicine, a style of medicine which is based on the classical teachings of the ancient Taoist medical texts.
Claire has a special interest in gynaecology and obstetrics. She has undergone post-graduate training in the treatment of various menstrual disorders, infertility, miscarriage and pregnancy and the use of acupuncture with IVF. Her approach combines Western medical knowledge with ancient Chinese wisdom. She is committed to promoting a natural preconceptual healthcare programme to enhance fertility and increase the chances of natural conception or the success of IVF.
Claire set up Conceive at the Dulwich Therapy Rooms, a clinic specializing in infertility, menstrual problems and pregnancy care. She is a Member of the British Acupuncture Council and the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine.
